Relevant Legal Bases

Security Measures

We take appropriate technical and organizational measures in accordance with legal requirements, taking into account the state of the art, implementation costs, and the nature, scope, circumstances, and purposes of processing, to ensure a level of security appropriate to the risk.

SSL Encryption (https): To protect your data transmitted via our online platform, we use SSL encryption. You can recognize such encrypted connections by the prefix https:// in the address bar of your browser.

Transmission and Disclosure of Personal Data

In the course of our processing of personal data, data may be transmitted to or disclosed to other entities, companies, legally independent organizational units, or persons. Recipients of this data may include payment service providers involved in transaction processes or IT hosting providers. In all cases, we strictly comply with legal requirements and conclude appropriate data processing agreements with recipients to protect your data.

Use of Cookies

Our platform uses strictly one single, technically necessary cookie: a session cookie for the login area. This cookie is mandatory to keep you logged in as a user after authentication and to grant access to protected areas of the platform (such as your script editor workspaces). It is typically deleted automatically when you close your browser.

Important Note: We do not use any tracking cookies, advertising cookies, external analytics tools (such as Google Analytics, Matomo), or social media pixels. Absolutely no tracking of your user behavior takes place.

Provision of the Online Offer and Web Hosting (cyon.ch)

To provide our online platform securely and efficiently, we use web hosting services provided by cyon.ch (Basel, Switzerland). Our host collects server log files with every access to the server, which your browser automatically transmits:

• Browser type and version
• Operating system used
• Referrer URL
• Hostname of the accessing computer
• Time of the server request
• IP address

This data is not combined with other data sources. Processing is based on our legitimate interests in the secure and error-free technical provision of our platform (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f GDPR).

E-Mail Hosting: Our email communication is also hosted via cyon.ch. Please note that standard internet emails are generally transmitted unencrypted unless end-to-end encryption is explicitly applied.

User Accounts, SaaS Services, and Script Management

When you register on MovieScriptOnline and create or collaborate on scripts, we process your registration data (username, email, encrypted password), content data (scripts, scenes, characters, uploaded images/storyboards), and collaboration assignments (invitations sent to team members). This data is processed strictly to provide the core SaaS functionalities under our contractual agreement (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. b GDPR).

Payment Processing (zahls.ch)

For the activation and duplication of script workspaces, payments are processed securely via external payment providers (such as zahls.ch). We do not store complete credit card or banking details on our servers. Data required for payment processing is handled directly by the designated payment gateway.

Contact and Communication

When you contact us (e.g., via email at welcome@moviescriptonline.com), the information provided by the inquiring parties is processed to handle and answer the contact request in accordance with pre-contractual or contractual obligations (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. b GDPR) or legitimate operational interests (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f GDPR).

Deletion of Data

The data processed by us will be deleted in accordance with legal requirements as soon as their permitted consents are revoked or other permissions lapse. If data is not deleted because it is required for other and legally permissible purposes (e.g., commercial or tax retention obligations, typically up to 10 years), its processing is restricted to those purposes.

Rights of Data Subjects

As a data subject under the GDPR, you have various rights, which result in particular from Articles 15 to 18 and 21 GDPR:

• Right to Object: You have the right to object, on grounds relating to your particular situation, at any time to processing of personal data concerning you based on Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. e or f GDPR.
• Right to Withdraw Consent: You have the right to withdraw given consents at any time.
• Right of Access: You have the right to request confirmation as to whether data in question is being processed and to obtain information about this data.
• Right to Rectification: You have the right to request the completion or correction of inaccurate data.
• Right to Erasure and Restriction: You have the right to demand the immediate deletion of data concerning you or, alternatively, a restriction of processing.
• Right to Data Portability: You have the right to receive your data in a structured, common, and machine-readable format.
• Right to Lodge a Complaint: You have the right to file a complaint with a supervisory authority.
