1. Scope

These General Terms and Conditions (hereinafter "GTC") apply to the use of the web-based platform MovieScriptOnline (available at moviescriptonline.com). The operator and provider of the platform is the operator named in the imprint (hereinafter "Provider"). By registering, purchasing a script workspace, or using the platform, the user accepts these GTC.

2. Description of Services

MovieScriptOnline is a cloud-based platform for screenwriters, producers, directors, and filmmakers. The platform offers, among other things, the following features:

• A block-based screenwriting editor with automatic saving (Auto-Save).
• Options for integrating storyboards, sketches, and image material.
• Advanced team collaboration with role-based permissions (Editor, Contributor, Actor Full/Partial with specific character assignments).
• Printing and export functions (including the industry-standard .fountain format).

3. Pricing Structure and Payment Terms (No Subscription)

MovieScriptOnline operates transparently and fairly without recurring subscription fees:

• Each newly created script workspace requires a one-time activation fee of $6.00 USD.
• Duplicating an existing script (e.g., for series episodes or alternative drafts) generates a new workspace and also costs a one-time fee of $6.00 USD (except for explicitly marked free users / administrator special rights).
• Payment processing is handled securely via external payment service providers (such as zahls.ch). Upon successful transaction, the respective script workspace is unlocked immediately.

4. Registration and User Account

The creation of a user account is required to use the services. The user is obligated to treat their access data confidentially and to provide truthful information during registration. An account is personalized and non-transferable to third parties.

5. Collaboration and Team Invitations

Script owners (Owners/Editors) have the option to invite third parties to collaborate via email. The inviter is responsible for granting access rights to others. Invited users (such as actors or crew members) receive free reading or editing access to their assigned areas after registration and acceptance of the invitation.

6. Intellectual Property and Data Protection

All screenplays, texts, ideas, and media uploaded into the system remain the intellectual property of the respective user. The Provider claims no copyrights to the created content. The Provider undertakes to treat the data confidentially, but assumes no absolute guarantee against unforeseen server outages. Users are advised to additionally secure important backups externally (e.g., via .fountain export).

7. Limitation of Liability

The use of MovieScriptOnline is at your own risk. The Provider is not liable for damages, data loss, or interruptions in platform availability, unless these are based on gross negligence or willful misconduct on the part of the Provider.

8. Final Provisions

The Provider reserves the right to amend these GTC at any time with effect for the future. Users will be informed in a timely manner about essential changes. Should individual provisions of these GTC be invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions shall remain unaffected.
